Sharon D. Lewis (Shores) – Bradford, PA

Sharon Darlene Lewis (Shores), 81, of Bradford, Pennsylvania, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 20, 2026, at Olean General Hospital. Born on April 24, 1945, in Salisbury, Maryland, Sharon was the beloved daughter of Elton and Irene Shores.

Sharon was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, David Edison Lewis, who undoubtedly met her at the gates with open arms. Their love and devotion to one another were evident throughout their lives, and their reunion brings comfort to those who mourn her passing.

Sharon leaves behind six children whom she loved dearly: Michelle Elliott (Jerry Elliott) of Laurel, Delaware; Mary Kathrine Cugler of Laurel, Delaware; Charles Lewis of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Tracey Lewis (Angela Bounds) of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Toni Taylor (David Taylor) of Bradford, Pennsylvania; and Jamie Pabon (Cory McCracken) of Bradford, Pennsylvania.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to thirteen grandchildren: Tim Brumbley (Erin Brumbley) of Laurel, Delaware; Tiffany Ardis of Laurel, Delaware; Bobby Ray Lewis of Salisbury, Maryland; Susannah Rose of Laurel, Delaware; Samantha Purnell of Laurel, Delaware; Jessica Lewis of Salisbury, Maryland; Brandon Batcha of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Sabrena Batcha of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Alyssia Kloss of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Adalia Taylor of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Brian Taylor of Salamanca, New York; Dimitrious Taylor of Salamanca, New York; Emily Taylor of Salamanca, New York; Marcus Pabon of Bradford, Pennsylvania; and Carlos Pabon of Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Sharon was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Luna Brumbley, Christian Abate Jr., Rex Cassell, Damien Rose-Largent, Salem Largent, Violet Mooney, Amara Lynn Pabon, and Octavia Mae Lewis-Maddox, and several cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Irene Shores; her beloved husband, David Edison Lewis; her first, late husband, Mike Cugler, and daughter, baby girl Cugler; and sister, Janet Brittingham (Clifford Brittingham).

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Sharon loved the Lord with all her heart. She was passionate about playing the piano and singing songs of praise, always ready to worship with her songbook in hand. She was a faithful member of Valley Worship Center in Smethport, Pennsylvania, where her church family held a special place in her heart. Alongside her husband, she found great joy in serving both her church and the church campground, dedicating countless hours to helping others and sharing God’s love.

Family was the center of Sharon’s world. She treasured every opportunity to gather with her loved ones for dinners, cookouts, holidays, and celebrations. She rarely missed a sporting event, performance, or milestone involving her children and grandchildren and spoke of each of them with immense pride. Her greatest joy was simply being surrounded by the people she loved.

Sharon found happiness in life’s simple blessings. One of her favorite treats was a Smith Island Cake sent by her beloved niece, Bonnie Raye Brittingham. Receiving one brought her as much excitement as Christmas morning. Though she was always willing to share, those closest to her knew she never felt guilty about enjoying every last bite while it was fresh.

She also had a special love for her faithful companions, Rucas and Yippie, and delighted in sharing treats with her cherished fur-grandbabies.

Those who knew Sharon will remember her as kind, loving, compassionate, and always eager to share the love of Jesus Christ. Her warmth, faith, and gentle spirit touched countless lives and left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though her family grieves her absence, they find peace in the words Sharon often shared:

“This world is not my home. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, CNAs, and staff of The Bradford Pavilion Nursing Home, who held a special place in Sharon’s heart. Your kindness, compassion, and care brought comfort not only to Sharon but to her entire family.

“Thank you for loving our mom.”

Sharon’s legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Family will receive friends at Guenther Funeral Home, 1303 E. State St., Olean, from 3 to 5 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with funeral services beginning at 5 pm with Pastor David Eastman officiating.  Burial with a graveside service will be Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery, Bradford, PA.
