Douglas P. Gray – Loving to all he knew
Eldred – Douglas P. Gray passed away on Wednesday (August 19, 2026) at Buffalo General Hospital, unexpectedly, after a long, courageous battle with heart disease.
Douglas was born September 4, 1969, in Bradford, Pa., the son of Luella G. (Williams) Gray and Rodney A. Gray Sr. He married Ashley (Dutton) Gray on February 29, 2012, in Allegany, N.Y.
He was a Cub Scout Master and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and especially loved the time he spent gaming with his son.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Ashley; son, Erik N. Gray, Eldred, who was the light of his Dad’s life; siblings, Rodney (Patricia) Gray, Bartlesville, OK; Steven Gray, Eldred, PA; Susan (William) Jacobs, Salamanca, NY; Barbara (Michael) Copenhaver, Smethport, PA; Nancy Schrlau, Olean, NY; Deborah Foster, Olean, NY; Amy Gray, Eldred, PA.,; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Wayne (Wilma) Dutton; mother-in-law, Vicki (Robert) Covert; sister-in-law, Jessica; and Braleigh Sloan, who was special to Doug.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Mark Gray; sister-in-law, Kimberly Gray; brother-in-law, William Foster; nephew, Toby Ward; and niece, April Schroth.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Eldred Boro Fire Hall, 4 Prat St., Eldred, PA.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.
