MARYVALE, NY – Keeping their hot streak alive through the Section VI Class A2 playoffs, the Olean baseball team punched their ticket to the championship game with a 9-4 win over Maryvale.

Six Huskies ended with hits during the win, led by Dom Myers’ perfect 3-for-3 night at the plate. Myers ended with one run and one RBI while Alex Jones finished 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Ethan Woodring and Caine DeGolier both scored three times each during Olean’s win while Tyler Sullivan scored once. On the mound, Noah Cartmill finished with three strikeouts during his 3.1 innings, while closer Austin Miles came away with six through the final 3.2.

Up next, the Huskies will take on fourth-seeded Lew-Port on Thursday at 7 p.m. That game will be hosted at Frontier.

Brocton/Cassadaga Valley 4, Allegany-Limestone 2

BROCTON, NY – Despite finding a spark late, the Gators’ season came to an end in the Section VI Class C quarterfinals.

Allegany-Limestone’s lone runs of the day came in the sixth. Despite finding two outs in the first two batters, the Gators loaded the bases with three consecutive walks, with a fourth in a row driving in their first run. One batter later, Bronx Foster made his way across home plate on a passed ball. Although they managed to take a 2-1 advantage, Brocton swiftly responded, scoring three in the same inning to seal the lead for good.

Conner Crowley ended 1-for-3 for A-L, while Dylan Rhodes and Foster both scored once. The Gators officially end their season at 6-16.
