COUDERSPORT, PA – Playing in their final North Tier League contest of the season, the Port Allegany softball team collected win No. 15, downing Coudersport 15-5 in five innings.
The Lady Gators’ bats showed up early, opening the day with five consecutive hits that drove in four runs. In an initial frame that saw seven runners cross home plate, Breah Fillhart, Jaiden Mahon, Maddy Errick and Lily O’Rourke all registered doubles, while Payton Gordon tallied a triple.
Allowing the Lady Falcons to retaliate, albeit, with just a lone run in the bottom of the first, Port returned to the plate and resumed their domination, seeing Brynn Evens crack her second home run of the season to score two. The Lady Gators finished the game with six more runs, forcing an early mercy rule and once again walking out of the dugout victorious.
Four Lady Gators ended with multiple hits on the day, with Evens finishing 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three more batted in. O’Rourke ended a perfect 2-for-2 with a game-high four RBIs alongside her single score, followed by Fillhart and Mahon who each put two balls in play and combined for four runs and two RBIs. In the circle, Bria Wilcox came away with eleven strikeouts.
