Roy E. Knier Jr. of Gowanda Nursing Home passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Roy was born on April 2, 1963, in Martinez, CA., and was the son of Roy E. and Wanda J. Fisher Knier Sr.

Roy enjoyed traveling and following the Grateful Dead band, playing pool, camping, and fishing. He will be remembered as a social butterfly. Roy would help or stick up for anyone and would give the shirt off his back to do so. Most of all, Roy loved his daughter and grandson who were the apple of his eye and loved to spend time with them.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Cassidy R. Knier and her mother, Serie M. (Tracy) Cole of Olean, his grandson, Hawkslee, three siblings, Beth (Gregg) Knier of PA., Michelle (Charlie) Goff of FL., and Troy (Emily) Frank of GA., several nieces and nephews.

Roy was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Keith Knier.

Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev. Chuck Maine, Pastor of Epic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
