Davidson 6, St. Bonaventure 5

DAVIDSON, NC — Conceding a late run, the Bonnies dropped the first game of their three-game A10 series at Davidson.

Bona had come up with the answers twice against the Wildcats. It had snatched a 2-1 lead after falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, and tied the game up at 5-5 in the seventh after conceding four runs in the bottom of the fifth.

But, taking advantage of a critical wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth, Davidson had the last laugh, squeaking out the narrow victory.

Christian LaMothe went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI to lead the Bonnies. Chris Hoalcraft, Manuel Castro and Joey Calabretti each had two hits in the loss as well.
