MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Traveling to Palmetto State for a spring break stretch, the Allegany-Limestone softball team picked up their second win of the season with a 10-3 blowout over Doddridge.

After a blank first frame, the Gators found themselves down by two heading into the bottom of the second, allowing runs on an RBI single and fielder’s choice score from the Bulldogs. However, they were quick to answer back.

Leading off was Kendall Lemon, who drilled a low shot through the infield, ultimately reaching second off an error. Two batters later, she was brought home by Kenna MacArthur’s sacrifice grounder before Mya Hayes cranked A-L’s first hit of the day, reaching third as she rattled off a line drive to center field. With two outs, the next two Gators brought in a combined three runs, with Molly John sending Hayes in with a grounder and Riley Sudbrook crushing a two-run homer beyond the fence to put A-L up 4-2.

The Gators eventually doubled down on their newfound lead with one more run in the third and three more in the fourth, all but pulling away as they tallied a win far from home.

Sudbrook led the Gators with three hits in four trips to the plate, recording four RBIs and three runs personally. Kennedy Honeck finished 2-for-4 with one run and two RBIs while Kailey Truman tallied nine strikeouts through seven innings in the circle.
