ST. BONAVENTURE — Dasonte Bowen, the captain for the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team this past season, has announced via Instagram that he will enter the transfer portal.
He is the first player from this past year’s Bona team to make his decision on the future official.
Bowen, transferring in from Iowa, spent two years with the Bonnies, granted his first year was cut short by a season-ending lower leg injury. He was the most notable returning player the Bonnies had this past season and in his comeback from injury, Bowen averaged 10.9 points (fourth-best on the team) and 4.8 assists (best on the team, third-best in all of the Atlantic 10) per game.
Bowen tied for the second-best assist-turnover ratio mark of any player in the A10 (2.3) and played an average of 34.4 minutes per game, the third-most of any A10 player this season.
