ST. BONAVENTURE — The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team has officially accepted an invitation to the WNIT.

After completing their first winning season in a decade, the Bonnies are postseason bound for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

Bona received one of 39 at-large bids to the tournament, which consists of a 48-team field after not earning one of nine automatic qualifiers (teams which were the two-seed in their conference tournament that did not receive a bid into the NCAA Tournament or WBIT).

Four Atlantic 10 teams accepted bids to the WNIT. The Bonnies will be joined by George Washington, Loyola Chicago and La Salle.

The official bracket will be announced on March 16.

The last time Bona was in the postseason, they earned a No. 10 seed and defeated No. 7 seed Oklahoma State in the first round of the NCAA Championship. They then lost to No. 2 seed Oregon State in the second round.
