Rena M. Cousins Wilber, Loving Wife and Mother.

Olean- Rena M. Cousins Wilber of Olean passed away in the early hours of Friday, February 27, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Buffalo on July 6, 1985, she was the daughter of Russell Sr. and Barbara Grabbitt Cousins. On September 25, 2004, she married John Wilber, who survives.

Rena was a 2004 graduate of Olean High School. She loved her family, spending time with them, and taking care of them. She also loved animals, especially her horse and fish pond. Rena was a wildlife rehabilitator; among all the animals she took care of, owls were her favorite. She liked to go to Canada for fishing trips and shopping. She was a Fireman with the Westons Mills Fire Department for over seven years. In that time, she received two humanitarian awards for her service.

Rena is survived by her husband, John Wilber; her children, Dakota, Hayden (Chelsi), and Caleb (Zoey) Wilber; her parents, Russ Sr. and Barb Cousins; her in-laws, Linda and Wayne Wilber; her grandparents, Jean and William Cousins, and Ola Grabbitt and Vern Burrows; her brother, Russell Cousins Jr.; her aunts and uncle, William J. (Gem) Cousins, Lydia Cousins, and Shelly Cousins; her brothers-in-law, Jason (Connie) Wilber, Ethan, Ian, and Evan Wilber; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by an aunt, Deb Cousins, and her cousin, William Cousins III.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Rena on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Kinney Hose Fire Hall, in Westons Mills, starting at 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a Fireman’s Ceremony at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to the Westons Mills Fire Dept. PO Box 601, Westons Mills, NY 14788.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.
