Douglas Redeye, 70, of Salamanca, NY, died Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Olean General Hospital following a long illness
Born January 18, 1956, in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Clifford and Phoebe Oliverio Redeye. He was married September 7, 2013, to the former Roberta Maybee, who survives.
He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, and of the Heron Clan.
He attended Salamanca High School and had been employed at Seneca Gaming and Entertainment, for over ten years at their bingo hall.
Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and watching old movies, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Surviving besides his wife are: three daughters; Michelle Johnson, Lynchburg, VA, Kayla (Anthony Zarrillo) Taylor, Salamanca, NY, Zoey (Phillip Brown) Redeye, Salamanca, NY, one son, Jarid John, Salamanca, NY. A sister, Barbara Redeye, Kill Buck, NY; two brothers, Clifford (Beverly) Redeye Jr., Limestone, NY, and George Redeye, of Kill Buck, NY; two granddaughters, Hayden and Ari John, both of Salamanca, NY, a grandson, Carter Milanowski, Salamanca, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters: Cheryl “Channy” Redeye and Debra Redeye; four nephews: Carl Simons Jr., Jason Nickerson, Austin Jimerson, and Logan C. Redeye.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke and O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Thursday February 26, 2026, from 12pm-4pm, at which time funeral services will be held, with Elder Peter Haig of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness officiating.
