Cattaraugus – Karen J. Nagel, 74, of Cattaraugus, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1951 in Salamanca, daughter of the late Richard and Joan Pavlock. In 1970 she married Bertram Nagel who predeceased her in 2000. Mrs. Nagel was known for her passion for crafting and her master crochet skills. Karen volunteered for events supporting veterans and seniors, as well as cancer patients. She would crochet hats for cancer patients as well as blankets for veterans. She loved to share her work with others. Karen will always also be remembered as an avid collector and how she loved her pets.

Mrs. Nagel is survived by two sons; Anthony (Amy) Nagel of Cattaraugus, and Thomas (Jennifer) Nagel of Paradise Valley, AZ, and a daughter, Tonia (Joseph) Phillips of Otto. Also surviving is a sister, Malynda Henderson, two brothers; Michael Pavlock, and Kevin Pavlock, as well as four grandchildren; Gavin Butcher, Saydee Phillips, Ashley Nagel. and Evelyn Nagel, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Karen is predeceased by a brother, Duane Pavlock, and a sister, Darice Silva.

Private family services will be held.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. 

Arrangments are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley.
