Belfast- Jessie L. Sprague “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister”
Jessie L. Sprague of Ramsey Road passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Olean General Hospital following an illness.
Jessie was born on March 25, 1949, in Margaretville, NY was the daughter of George and Doris Cowan Sanford. On September 2, 1972, in DeRuyter, NY she married Ronald W. Sprague who predeceased her on April 27, 2024.
Jessie became a foster parent to 8 of her children which led her to dedicate her life to helping keep families whole. She worked for Allegany County for 22 years as a substance abuse counselor where she loved her job. Jessie enjoyed quilting and bowling.
Jessie is survived by her nine children: Erin (Doug) Parsley, Scot (Kim Duquette) Sokolowski-Sprague, Heather (Jim Rinderle) Balcom, Tracy Sprague, Ethan (April Murphy) Sprague, Dustin (Bri) Sprague, Jessica Sprague, Michael (Anndrea Burgess) Sprague, and Steven Sprague, 16 grandchildren, her siblings, Ted (Sue) Sanford and Rosalie (Jim) Bentley.
Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Ronald, her parents, a son, Ryan and her sister, Sally Angel.
