Gordon Kelkenberg, 82, of Great Valley, NY, died Thursday evening, January 29. 2026 at The Pines of Olean following a long illness.
Born September 23, 1943 in Akron, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Edna Fountain Kelkenberg. He was married February 14, 2000 to the former Debora Simons, who survives. Previously, he had been married to the late Mary Edwards, the mother of his children.
Surviving besides his wife are: three children, Scot (Hillary) Kelkenberg, Amy Kelkenberg, Erik (Hope) Kelkenberg; a grandson, Isaac; six siblings, Mary, William, Ronald, Jean, Anna, and Roger; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Tim Hyson and Marvin & Julia Barberich.
He was predeceased by two brothers, John and James.
He was a graduate of Akron High School, Class of 1961 and attended Erie County Community College.
Gordon was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1965 – 1967.
He had been employed with Delphi in Lockport, NY for 30 years, retiring in 1999.
He enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, hiking, and horseback riding. He had farmed both cows and horses at different periods.
There will be no visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
