Jerry L. Skiver, Loving Husband and Father

Bolivar- Jerry L. Skiver of Bolivar passed away Sunday evening, January 25, 2026, after a short illness.

Jerry was born in Olean on September 20, 1941, the son of the late Richard and Josephine Skiver. He married his true love, the former Nancy Fabian, who predeceased him in October 2005.

He worked for the Wyoming County Hospital for 13 years in maintenance. An avid hunter and fisherman, but a true cowboy at heart. A member of the Cowboy Ministry, Jerry also did rodeo for a time. Bronc and bull riding were his passions. Jerry also spent many years working on the family farm, taking great pride in his work.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Kari (Terry) Washburn and Gwenn (Tom) Archer, and several grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy, and his parents, Richard and Josephine.

Family will receive friends Monday, February 2, 2026, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 East State Street, Olean, with a funeral service starting at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery in Machias.
