OLEAN — Tickets are now on sale for Big Fish, the imaginative and heartfelt musical presented at Olean High School, with strong support from the Olean Music Boosters.
Performances will take place at Olean High School on Friday, Jan. 30, and Saturday, Jan. 31, with both shows beginning at 7 p.m.
The Olean Music Boosters play a vital role in supporting student musicians and performers by providing funding, advocacy, and volunteer support for music programs and productions throughout the year. Guided by the belief that “Music makes the world a better place, we support the growth of all musicians at Olean High School,” the Boosters help ensure students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed on stage and beyond.
Before each performance and during intermission, the Olean Music Boosters will host fundraising activities, including the sale of bottled water only for $2, Olean Music Boosters stickers for $2, and magnets for $5. A 50/50 raffle will also be held, with tickets available for $5 each, three for $10, or 10 for $20. All Music Booster sales are cash or Venmo only.
Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman known for his larger-than-life tales, and his adult son, Will, who struggles to separate myth from reality as he seeks to understand his father. Told through two intertwining timelines, the musical blends fantasy and emotion, featuring memorable characters such as a witch, a giant, a mermaid, and Sandra, the great love of Edward’s life. At its core, the production explores family, love, and the power of storytelling.
Tickets are available online in advance at https://cur8.com/23562/project/135158 and will also be sold at the door. The Olean Music Boosters encourage community members to purchase tickets in advance, as proceeds directly support music and performing arts opportunities for students.
