OLEAN — Members of the Olean Police Department’s Emergency Response team made an arrest recently as they served a search warrant at 212 W. Oak St., apartment B, police reported.

The search warrant, served at 6 p.m. Jan 16, was a result of an investigation conducted by the Street Crimes Unit into drug sales from the apartment, police said Friday. 

Investigators reported they located over 52 grams of cocaine and over 4 grams of fentanyl as well as an undisclosed amount of cash in the apartment. 

Police said Markeel Hilson, 29, of 505 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

He faces arraignment on the charges in Olean City Court on Feb. 5.

The Street Crimes Unit was assisted by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.
