FREDONIA, NY — The Salamanca girls basketball team, going on the road and taking down Fredonia 55-39, has now won three straight and seven of its last eight contests.

Maliyah Foster led the red-hot Warriors with 13 points. Ella Crouse piled on 10 as Salamanca had 10 different point-scorers on the night.

Charli Ross and Arabelle Reynolds made an impact on the glass for Salamanca, roping in five rebounds apiece.

“It was a good league win for us on the road,” Salamanca coach Joe Hinman said. “We got a little sloppy early and in the third quarter, but we picked back up on the intensity to finish strong. We were able to change our lineups often and everyone scored which is always good to see.”

“The girls came out with strong defensive pressure and were able to produce some steals that led to transition buckets,” Portville coach Inga Welty said. “We had four girls score in double digits and three of them were freshmen. Those same freshmen, Quinn, Ava and Emily, each came away with four steals as well.
