DUKE CENTER, PA — Unable to contain Lilly Steele’s second-half eruption, the Otto-Eldred girl’s basketball team tallied their second loss of the season, losing to Northern Potter, 40-34, for the first time in seven years.

Through the first two quarters, it seemed like business as usual. With the help of a couple of deep shots, the Lady Terrors managed to build and hold a lead for the initial 16 minutes, albeit, at just four-points going into halftime. However, then Steele found her flow.

After scoring just seven points in the first two quarters, Steele let loose for nine in the third quarter, leading NoPo as they outscored O-E 13-7. Taking a two-point advantage heading into the final quarter, doubled down by adding 10 more points to her scoring column. Meanwhile, the Lady Terrors failed to keep in stride, unable to crack double-digit points as they lost their first North Tier League game of the season.

Steele ended with a game-high 24 points, leading her team to the first NoPo win over the Lady Terrors since February of 2018. For O-E, Baylee Francis scored 10 points while Rayel Hakes ended with nine points and nine rebounds. Jahden Smith came away with two points and eight rebounds.

I’m proud of our ball movement and intensity down the stretch. Kynleigh was able to get going on the offensive end which was really nice to see.
