BRADFORD, PA – Opening their season at home, the Bradford boy’s basketball team notched their first win of the year with a 53-32 win over Ridgway that saw three Owls end in double-digit figures.
After nudging out a narrow first-quarter lead over the Elkers, Bradford dominated in the second quarter. Outscoring Ridgway 20-12 in the period, Danny Marasco, Marcus Terwilliger and Tarren Reese led the way with 18 combined points. The Owls then doubled down in the third, expanding their lead with 18 more points that all but solidified the final outcome against the slow Elker offense.
Terwilliger led the Owls in scoring, finishing with 14 points. He and Marasco both ended with four steals, with the latter also scoring seven points and pulling down four rebounds. Reese finished with 11 points and a team-high five steals while Tyler Simmons hit a team-high three 3-pointers on his way to 13 points.

Girl’s Basketball

RIDGWAY, PA – Coming off their season-opening loss two nights prior, the Lady Hubbers responded with a wire-to-wire win over the Lady Wolves led by Payton Neff.
Neff led the charge for Smethport in the win, coming away with a game-high 13 points, eight of which came in the final quarter. Along with her scoring, which included three 3-pointers, Neff tallied three assists and four steals in the win. Madey McKean finished with seven points, but dominated the glass for 10 rebounds, also posting four assists and three steals.

Women’s Basketball
Hilbert 67, Pitt-Bradford 61
BRADFORD, PA – Despite coming out of the gates strong, the Panthers ultimately fell just six points shy of their first win of the season, instead dropping to 0-6 with a loss to the Hawks.
Although Pitt-Bradford burst out of the gates with a 24-15 first quarter, they would quickly fall behind by tallying just seven in the second. From there, Hilbert continued to build on their lead, fending off a late comeback to top the Panthers in hostile territory.
Amber Murak led Pitt-Bradford in scoring, coming away with 26 points, five rebounds and three steals. Dalayla Alexander also reached double-digit scoring with 13, recording six assists and five steals as well.

BRADFORD, PA – The Panthers’ win streak came to an end at the hands of the Hawks during a game in which they shot just over 38 percent from the floor.
Jeremy Rodriguez continued to lead Pitt-Bradford in scoring, ending with 23 points alongside four blocks, four rebounds and two assists, while Coby Farley (13), Xander Norris (11) and Niare Poplar (10) all also reached double-digit scoring.
