SALAMANCA — Salamanca Police have announced an arrest in the death of a woman found deceased Friday morning in a River Street apartment.
The woman was not identified pending notification of next of kin.
Salamanca Police, who are conducting a joint investigation with the Cattaraugus County sheriff’s detectives, said Megan F. White, 28, of 117 River St., was charged with second-degree murder, a class A felony, in connection with the death.
Her arrest came at 8:20 a.m. Friday at the River Street apartment where the woman’s body was found.
White was also charged with first-degree manslaughter, a class B felony and first-degree assault, a class B felony, according to police.
White was arraigned Salamanca City Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail. The investigation is ongoing.
Police have not released further details.
