WILSON, NY – Fighting until the very last minute, the Portville girl’s soccer team saw their late-season undefeated streak finally come to an end as they fell to Wilson 3-2 in overtime in the Section VI Class C semifinals.
Entering the postseason on a nine-game win streak, the Panthers claimed the fourth seed before defeating No. 5 Ellicottville in the quarterfinals to find their tenth straight. However, then the rubber hit the road as they pulled top-seeded Wilson up next.
Against the Pirates, Portville held their own, going tick-for-tack through both halves to counter a goal against with a goal for. Ultimately forcing overtime, Wilson found the game-sealing score to eliminate the Panthers.
Portville ends their 2025 campaign at 14-3-1 overall.
