SALAMANCA, NY – Snapping their two-week skid, the Salamanca football team was able to right the ship with a big 44-12 win over Fredonia.

While the Warriors were unable to get on the board in the first quarter, trailing the Hillbillies 6-0 after 12 minutes of game time, the offense was eventually able to find its stride. And once it got going, there was no stopping Salamanca as it spread out its scoring with 16, 15 and 13 points in quarters two, three and four, respectively.

Conner Seeley, who finished with 248 total rushing yards, and Quinten Brown, who tallied 74 yards with his legs, led the Warriors with two touchdowns apiece. Also getting a touchdown on the board for Salamanca was quarterback Payton Bradley, who ran for 65 yards and threw for 62 on the night, and Cruz Pennell.

Defensively, Tommy George led the Warriors with eight total tackles. Bradley found himself with seven and Evan Spruce recorded five when all was said and done as well.

A-L has just one game left on the schedule, a non-league contest against St. Joes on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Dunkirk 4, Olean 3 OT

DUNKIRK, NY – The Huskies final stand ended in heartbreak as they fell with a goal in the last minute of double overtime.

After seeing the Marauders pound the net early in the first half, with goals in the fourth and 13th minute, Olean worked to eventually even the score. After another round of tick-for-tack scoring in the second, the game would be forced into two extra sessions. However, Dunkirk found a game-sealing spark at the very end of the game, scoring in the 99th minute.

With the loss, Olean ends their season at 3-13 overall and 1-9 in CCAA Division I.

Portville 2, Ellicottville/Franklinville 0

ELLICOTTVILLE, NY – Finding a goal in both halves, the Panthers finished their regular season out with a win on the road.

Luke Edwards cracked open the action in the first, scoring on an individual effort and although Portville’s defense would hold the Eagles at bay, another goal late in the game from Garrett Reynolds would put the finishing touches on Portville’s 12th win overall and eighth CCAA Division II victory.

Cassadaga Valley 2, Salamanca 0

SALAMANCA, NY – Giving up two goals early, the Warriors suffered a loss in their final game of the regular season.
