ALLEGANY, NY – Three goals from three different Gators propelled the Allegany-Limestone boy’s soccer team to a 3-0 win over Jamestown.
Seeing the Red and Green for the first time this season, A-L got to work in the first, netting a goal from Cooper Wilczewski in the 29th minute to grab an early foothold. Adding to their lead in the second, Wilczewski then found an assist as he fed Owen Buzzard for a score just seven minutes after the intermission. Continuing to hold Jamestown scoreless, Isaac Brauer then put the finishing touches on the Red and Green in the 70th, sealing the Gators’ fifth CCAA Division I win in a row.
With an unblemished league record, A-L holds a firm grip over the Division I standings as they recorded their fourth shutout victory of the year. Having five more league games left on the schedule, including a rematch with Jamestown on Thursday, Oct. 16, the Gators are poised to win out the Division as well as punch a ticket to the playoffs. Their next game is scheduled for this Thursday, when they take on Olean at home at 7 p.m.
Cassadaga Valley/Falconer 8, Salamanca 1
FALCONER, NY – Finding a second half collapse, the Warriors suffered their second loss in a row and ninth of the season as they dropped to the Cougars in their first meeting.
Despite finding an early deficit in the first half, Salamanca chipped away and entered the break just down 2-1. However, in the following 40 minutes of play, any chance of a comeback would quickly dissipate as Cassadaga Valley piled on six more unanswered goals.
With six games left on the schedule, the Warriors stand at 1-9 overall and 1-4 in CCAA Division II play. Having five league games left on the docket, they will have to shore up and focus as they prepare for an attempt at a playoff berth.
Ridgway 5, Port Allegany 1
PORT ALLEGANY, PA – Unable to contain Jonah King, Port United fell to 1-10-1 on the season with a loss to the Elkers.
King ended the night with his footprints all over the game, recording a hat trick to bury the Gators with a flurry of goals. Alongside him was Mario Casillio and Gavin Lehman who both also found the back of the net during the win. For Port, Micah Errick punched in the lone goal of the night on an assist from Trey Kiser. In goal, Aiden Stuckey came away with six saves for the Gators.
Girls Soccer
Brockway 3, Port Allegany 0
BROCKWAY, PA – Tallying their third loss in a row, the Lady Gators were blanked on the road to the Lady Rovers.
Scoring on the day came from Brockway’s Gabby Pisarcik, Emma Rice and Addie Bisbey while Port’s Hannah Taylor recorded eight saves in the loss.
Volleyball
Elk County Catholic 3, Bradford 3
ST. MARYS, PA – Facing their toughest matchup of the season once again, the Lady Crusaders proved once again to be too much to handle for Bradford.
ECC proved to be Bradford’s toughest matchup of the season as they were the only team on the schedule to force the Lady Owls into a five-set match, of which they lost. In the second coming, it proved to be the same story, albeit, in one less set.
Haley Keane led the way for the Lady Owls, defending the net with four blocks while also registering 15 kills. Addison Carter registered 10 kills, while Addison Rosendahl finished with seven alongside three blocks. Aliya Corignani had three blocks and four kills, also running the floor with 34 assists.
Girl’s Tennis
Olean 5, Salamanca 0
OLEAN, NY – Celebrating their Seniors with a win at home, the Huskies blanked Salamanca with work from their star core.
Lina Chauhdry and Natalie Snyder both took sweeping wins in the first and second singles while the duos of Braelyn Eaton and Serenity Durphy in the first doubles, Rachael Dulmus and Elle Redding in the second doubles and Simran Chahal and Caidence Hutchison in the third doubles all dominated the court for three wins over the Warriors.
Looking forward, Olean has just two games left on the schedule. On Thursday, the Huskies will travel to face Dunkirk before staying on the road for their season finale against Cassadaga Valley on Friday.

OLEAN, NY – Competing in a field of four teams, the Huskies found two silver medals on their home course at Forness Park.
In the girl’s varsity race, Olean was led by Kinley Belleisle and May Eaton, who crossed the finish line in first and second. Belleisle took first with a time of 21:04, narrowly beating her teammate who came in just one second later. Jabre’yah Brown (27:37), Lily Eaton (27:38) and Johanna Hadley (27:39) finished in 12th, 13th and 14th, respectively.
A-L’s Abby Higgins (21:27) and Lila Sheehy (22:46) finished in the top five at third and fifth, while Aralyn Jennings (25:36) claimed tenth.
For the boys, Nolan Wilczewski earned silver for the Gators with a time of 17:18, followed by Olean’s Cruz Clark nabbed bronze at 18:43. The Huskies’ Declan Boutillette (19:20) took sixth, Seamus Leslie (20:16) took 13th and Daks Perry (20:51), Nolan Kelsey (21:19) and Theodore McClellan (23:27) filled out 15th, 16th and 17th.

BROCKWAY, PA – Led by a virtual five-way tie for first place, the Owls swept their eleventh meet of the season.
Tony McDonald, Kadyn Tessena, Xavier Frontino, Evan Troisi and Jordan Hogue led the pack for the Owls, all crossing the finish line at 21:51. Bradford continued to dominate the field of competition as Nikolai Frontino (22:14) came in sixth and Miles Hawk (22:44) finished in seventh.
Cavan Drake (24:04) came in 12th for the Owls, Langdon Krepp (25:16) came in 17th and Owen Tingley (27:36) took 19th.
Finishing their dual meet season at 11-2, Bradford now has 11 days until their next meet, when they travel to Rocky Grove.
Swimming and Diving
Salamanca 88, Panama/Clymer/Sherman/Maple Grove 88
PANAMA, NY – Recording their first tie of the season, the Warriors relied on their depth to hold out against their opponents.
Addison Follman led Salamanca as a double winner, taking gold in the 50 free and 100 back while Anna Martens took a first place finish in diving and Charli Ross won the 100 breast. Ava Chriss took first in the 100 fly, setting a new PR.
Salamanca won two of their three relay events on the night. The quartet of Follman, Chriss, Kynleigh Wass and Julianna Smith won in the 200 medley and the 200 free relay.
Men’s Soccer
Cleveland State 3, St. Bonaventure 1
CLEVELAND, OH – After a scoreless first half, the Bonnies and the Vikings dueled in the second, with Cleveland State outgunning their visiting opponents.
The Vikings would score three times in 11 minutes, with Jacob Deever, Peleg Armendariz and Ognjen Bozovic all punching in goals. The Bonnies would answer just once, with Seth Hammond finding the back of the net off an assist from Ricardo Rittersberger in the 78th minute.
St. Bonaventure (3-5-2) has just five games left on their regular season schedule, four of which are Atlantic 10 matchups. After a game at Robert Morris on Tuesday, Oct. 7, the Bonnies then face George Mason on Saturday, Oct. 11, Dayton on Saturday, Oct. 18, La Salle on Saturday, Oct. 25 and Fordham on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Pitt-Bradford 2, Alfred State 0
BRADFORD, PA – The Panthers dropped their second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss of the season as they were shutout at home against Alfred State.
Both of the Ox’s goals would come in the second, with Henry Leahy scoring in the 55th minute and Ryan Masi scoring in the 87th. Pitt-Bradford’s offense, which produced nine total shots, would not be able to find a gap, tallying their fifth shutout loss of the season.
Tending the net, Whitaker Sackman and Christopher House combined for five saves for the Panthers.
Women’s Soccer
Alfred State 5, Pitt-Bradford 0
ALFRED, PA – The Panthers’ losing skid continued with a blowout loss on the road.
The Oxen would punch three goals in throughout the first 45 minutes, then adding to their already out of hand lead with two more in the second half.
Pitt-Bradford’s goal keepers, Madelyn Seely and Josie Orinko, combined for seven saves during the Panthers’ sixth loss of the season.
