Allegany-Limestone holds watch party for Angelina Napoleon’s World Athletics Championships race

TOKYO, JAPAN — On Sept. 17, Allegany-Limestone students gathered early in the morning to watch as former Gator, Angelina Napoleon, represented Team USA in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

Grabbing a fifth-place finish, with a time of 9:18.03, in the second heat on Sept. 14, Napoleon earned herself a place in the final for the event.

In the final, she shaved her time down to 9:17.44, which saw her finish inside the top-10 and lead all competitors from the United States.
