NEW YORK — On Oct. 11, the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team will host a Pro Day at the NBA’s National Basketball Players Association training facility in midtown Manhattan.

The impact of General Manager Adrian Wojnarowski has been great in the buildup to the 2025-26 campaign, with the team announcing that it will host a public practice at Toronto’s Humber College just a week ago. Now, the contacts he had brought back to his alma mater will see his Bonnies be the first mid-major team to host a Pro Day, as well as it being the first collegiate Pro Day at an off-campus site.

“The first Bonnies Pro Day is a tremendous opportunity for NBA and G League front office executives to scout our players in a competitive practice and workout environment,” Wojnarowski said via a press release.  “Professional evaluation is a long process and our unparalleled relationships with the league’s decision-makers allows St. Bonaventure’s players to be front-and-center in the eyes and minds of organizations in a way few, if any, mid-major collegiate programs are able. To have the Pro Day in midtown Manhattan at a world-class facility like the National Basketball Players Association makes it an even more ideal setting for the NBA and the Bonnies to come together.”

According to the release, representatives from all 30 NBA teams as well as draft analysts will be invited to take a look at the Bona roster as it is put through “a variety of high-intensity drills and workouts to put their talents on display.”

“Our team can’t wait to showcase their skills in the first Pro Day ever hosted by a mid-major,” head coach Mark Schmidt said via the release. “For a long time, St. Bonaventure has been a great place for aspiring professionals to develop, and this event reinforces our program’s commitment to getting our players to the next level.”

Over the course of St. Bonaventure’s history, it has seen 33 players drafted into the NBA. The most recent draftee being Andrew Nicholson, who was selected 19th overall by the Orlando Magic in 2012. Bob Lanier (1st overall, 1970), Tom Stith (2nd overall, 1961) and Brendan McCann (5th overall, 1957) are the three players the Bonnies have seen drafted in the top five throughout its history.
