ST. BONAVENTURE — The St. Bonaventure men’s lacrosse team had three players selected in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Draft on Sept. 6.
Highlighting the picks was Kyle Pepper, who was chosen in the first round by the Calgary Roughnecks. Pepper was the top Atlantic 10 player selected in the draft and one of two to have been taken in the first round. His 11th overall pick matches the highest NLL Draft selection in St. Bonaventure’s program history, with Brett Dobson also being taken 11th overall in 2022.
Pepper ranks seventh in Bona history with 48 total points and ninth in career goals with 25 to his name.
Also getting drafted was Aiden MacDonell, who was taken in the second round by the Georgia Swarm, and Kaden Brennan, who went in the fourth round to the Philadelphia Wings.
MacDonell, a Toronto native, ranks eighth in school history in caused turnovers (20) despite playing just three games in his senior season due to injury. Meanwhile, Brennan is the first Bona player to be drafted by the Wings.
