Olean- Patricia J. (Aderman) Powley “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister”

Patricia J. Powley, 71, of 421 5th Avenue, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at her home following a short illness surrounded by her family.

Pat was born March 24, 1954 in Olean and was the daughter of Richard C. and Jean Ganoung Aderman. On May 16, 1975, in Olean she married Thomas M. Powley who predeceased her on December 1, 2010.

Patty was a 1972 graduate of Allegany Central School. She retired from Olean General Hospital after 15 years of service in the housekeeping department, where she was known as the shiny floors lady in 2017. Before that she worked at the service store Park & Shop on Front Street for several years. Patty worked at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home for over 30 years as a housekeeper. She and her husband Tom owned & operated Hy-Tech Automotive from 1987 to 1996 in Olean.

Pat was the “Glue” that held the families together, she knew everyone and how they were related. She was close with all the cousins, nieces, and nephews in all the families. “Mom flat out loved them all and if you saw her, you better be giving her a hug or she will yell at you.”

Pat held a special place in her heart for her beloved grandson Spencer. Her sons believe she loved and cared for her grandson more than them. She loved the adventures and all the activities they did together.

Pat is survived by; 2 sons, Nicholas S. Powley and Nathan T. (Nina) Powley both of Olean; a grandson, Spencer Powley of Olean; 4 siblings, Joyce Fitch, Barbara (Dave) Caya, Susanne Aderman and Jack (Joyce) Aderman; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.

Along with her loving husband of 35 years, Thomas, Pat was predeceased by; her parents; 2 brothers, David Aderman and Richard Aderman Jr.; 3 special nephews; and 3 special brothers-in-law.

As per Patricia’s request, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
