Local talent highlights CCAA Div. II track and field All-Star teams

The CCAA Div. II boys and girls track and field All-Stars have been announced and among them are several names from local programs.

Beginning with the girls, Allegany-Limestone had the most athletes named All-Stars of any Div. II team with six. Elexa Duggan (Distance), Elizabeth Giardini (Pole Vault), Brogann Howard (Hurdles, Triple Jump), Caitlyn Kellogg (Sprints, Long Jump), Maya Lyle-Hess (Sprints) and Anaya Mickens (Throws) each represented the Gators as All-Stars.

Salamanca had the next most nods to the girls All-Star team with five. Gabrielle Bly (Distance), Ryanna Brady (Distance), Aubrey Domres (Throws), Isabella Milks (Hurdles, Jumps) and Jamila Neithrope (Sprints, Long Jump) all earned a spot.

Portville’s Anna Haynes (Distance, High Jump), Emma Rhinehart (Hurdles, Triple Jump) and Airiana Whitaker (Sprints, Jumps) took places on the All-Star team as well.

Sportsmanship Awards, which were handed to one athlete per team in the CCAA Div. II, went to Allegany-Limestone’s Saylynn Bish, Salamanca’s Paloma Haas and Portville’s Natalie Isaman.

— Franklinville/Ellicottville’s Eva Green (Hurdles), Natalie Leiper (Sprints, High Jump) and Elizabeth Price (Throws), Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Talon Bramer (Sprints, Jumps) and Emma Gassman (Sprints, Jumps), and West Valley’s Olivia Harmony (Distance) rounded out the girls All-Star team.

— F/E’s Faith Burlingame, CLV’s Emma Gassman and West Valley’s Victoria Parish took home their team’s respective Sportsmanship Awards.

— CLV earned the girls’ Team Sportsmanship Award.

As for the local boys teams, Allegany-Limestone had the most number of local All-Star selections. The Gators were represented by Donovan Booker (Hurdles, Pentathlon), Mathew Burnett (Sprints), Kamil Milliner (Sprints) and Nolan Wilczewski (Distance).

Salamanca and Portville each had three athletes named All-Stars. Kyle Lecceardone (Sprints), Jackson Oram (Jumps) and Evan Spruce (Throws) were each given nods from the Warriors while Parker Dornan (Sprints, Jumps), Luke Edwards (Sprints, Jumps) and Ryan Loncher (Hurdles, High Jump) were the Panthers selected to the All-Star team.

Wilczewski was Allegany-Limestone’s Sportsmanship Award winner. Perry Winship took home the award from Salamanca and DJ Fowler received the honors from Portville.

— Franklinville/Ellicottville’s Grant Cornell (Distance), Ben Edwards (Hurdles), Chris Edwards (Sprints, Pole Vault), Maddox Johnson (Hurdles, Pentathlon) and Billy Slavinski (Sprints, Throws), West Valley’s Noah Klahn (Distance), Achilles Leckey (Discus, Pole Vault, Relays) and Jack Tharnish (Distance), and Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s Branson Gabel (Hurdles, Triple Jump) and Ben Seiflein (Sprints) filled out the rest of the boys All-Star team.

— F/E’s Maddox Johnson, West Valley’s Derik Schoepflin and CLV’s Alex Pietras each took home their school’s Sportsmanship Award.

— CLV earned the boys’ Team Sportsmanship Award.
