Richard Gilbert Bowen, 84, of the Bradford Manor, formerly of Randolph, passed away, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Bradford Manor in Bradford, Pa.
He was born December 5, 1940 in Jamestown, the son of the late Donald E. and
Ruth (Burrow) Bowen. He was a graduate of Randolph Central School and was honorably
Dis-charged from the United States Army, where he served from February 3, 1958 to March 27, 1963.
Dick had worked various jobs over the years including, TRW, Watson Manufacturing, Blackstone Corporation and as a self- employed car dealer, G & B Auto Deals on Wheels. He lastly was a transporter for Landmark Chevrolet in Randolph and was a friend and driver for the Amish.
He was a former member of the Randolph American Legion Post 181 and Conewango Folks (Cardinal Hills) Golf Course in Randolph. He had been a member of the former Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, dancing, playing poker and socializing with friends and family.
He is survived by five children; Lisa Neamon of Steamburg, Marjorie Sutton, Christine Southwick, Lawrence “Larry” Shugars and Donald Bowen all of Randolph, 12 grand-children and many great-grandchildren and great-great grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Donald and Ruth, his wife; Lynette M. (Peterson) Bowen, whom he married on June 29, 1968 and passed away on February 11, 2017 and a brother, Grant Ellis “BoBo” Bowen.
As per Richards wishes, Visitation and services will not be observed. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph.
