BRADFORD, PA – Playing just five innings due to loss of light, the Bradford baseball team ended in a 5-5 stalemate against Coudersport.
Despite having to organize around rain, thunder and lightning, the Owls and Falcons got to work early. Coudy scored the initial run of the night off a steal of home, with Mason Roessner narrowly avoiding the tag at the plate. However, Bradford was able to respond with a Tarren Reese RBI double and Maksim Demic RBI single, putting the Owls up 2-1 after the first frame.
Although neither were able to produce in the second, they would go tick-for-tack once again in the third. After the Falcons pulled ahead by one, Bradford would drive in a run off a Demic single before Talan Reese would smash a two-run homer immediately after.
“It was a great start. The kids hit the ball, they came out swinging and sat back on the off-speed pitch,” said Bradford head coach Eric Haynoski. “They just sat back and drove the ball like they’re supposed to.”
Coudy would tie the game up with a pair of scores in the fourth, but from then on both team’s bats would cool off, instead replaced by fluid fielding in the infield that held each other at bay. Confined to just five innings, neither would be able to break the tie, resulting in a deadlock ending.
Tarren Reese and Demic both ended 2-for-3 with Reese scoring twice and tabbing one RBI and Demic scoring once and driving in two runs.
“I think we’re definitely trending in the right direction. I think the kids are seeing the ball better. I think we’ve been outside enough that we’re getting enough BP, enough swings outside and I think they’re picking up the spin on the ball,” said Haynoski. “It was a fun game tonight, it wasn’t the outcome we wanted but I definitely want to keep playing offensively like this. It’s fun.”

OLEAN, NY – The Olean baseball team, despite conceding the lead in the first inning, roared back and scored its second win over Allegany-Limestone in as many days.
The Gators, looking to split the CCAA Div. I series against their crosstown rivals, came out swinging with Vinny LaBella launching a home run in the very first at-bat of the game. The visitors managed to get another on base in the first frame via a single, but after that first frame their offense just about ground to a halt.
Over the next four innings, A-L managed to tally just one more hit, scoring its only other run in the game via a bases-loaded walk. And the Huskies jumped at their opportunity to take control of the game, scoring five times in the second inning and six more times in the fourth.
And without a response in the top of the fifth, the Huskies walked away with a run-rule victory.

Bradford 10, Coudersport 6
COUDERSPORT, PA – After falling behind early, a massive surge in the top of the fourth helped the Lady Owls secure their sixth win of the season.
In the early goings, Bradford would take a quick lead only to see Coudy retaliate with six scores in three innings. Scoreless for two straight frames, Bradford would burst out in front in the sixth. Loading the bases with just one out, Daisy Greene singled, driving in Carleigh Grubbs and chipping the deficit down to two. After another out, a score via walk would narrow it to just one before Jackie Sipko doubled, sending in three scores and putting the Lady Owls in front once again. From there, they would hold the lead and keep Coudy scoreless, earning a come from behind victory on the road.
Along with her seven strikeouts in the circle, Greene ended with three hits, two scores and two RBIs through five trips to the batters’ box. Spiko finished with four RBIs on a 1-for-3 day at the plate while Sarah Cox recorded two alongside one run on a 1-for-3 day.
