Mary A. Bierfeldt, 82, of Lackawanna, NY, formerly of Salamanca, NY died Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Father Baker Manor, Orchard Park, NY following a long illness.
Born October 16, 1942 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Geraldine Whitcomb Nosal. She was married on May 15, 1966 at the former St. Patrick’s RC Church, Salamanca, NY to David C. Bierfeldt, who predeceased her in 1993.
She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1960 and had been employed at the former Ned Fenton Insurance Company and Loblaws Supermarket.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Sacred Heart RC Church, Orchard Park, NY. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, and in her younger days, she enjoyed ice skating, singing, and playing the organ. She will be remembered for being an avid sports fan who could recall many sporting statistics.
Surviving are: a daughter, Karen Bierfeldt, West Seneca, NY; two sons, Peter (Melissa) Bierfeldt, Apex, NC, Scott (Laura) Bierfeldt, Far Hills, NJ; a sister, Cathy Negrin, New Port Richey, FL; a brother, James (Gina) Nosal, Orchard Park, NY; five granddaughters; a grandson; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, John Nosal.
Friends may call at O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 11am – 12pm, followed by a graveside service in Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Michael Anderson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 N. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.
