Delores K. Chapel, 71, of Salamanca, NY died Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2025 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born December 15, 1953 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Zenna Frank Pierce. She was married November 17, 1973 in Little Valley, NY to William H. Chapel, who survives.

She attended Salamanca High School and was a graduate of Little Valley High School, Class of 1972. She earned her LPN from BOCES in Olean, NY.

Delores had been employed as a nurse with the Olean Medical Group for over 15 years and had previously been employed at the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center and the Salamanca Nursing Home.

She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and travelling with her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting and following the Buffalo Bills.

Surviving besides her husband are: three sons, Jason (Leslie) Chapel, Shawn Chapel, Daniel Chapel, all of Salamanca, NY; her twin brother, Dennis (Shirley) Pierce, Bradford, PA; a granddaughter, Sarah (Jacob) Young, Salamanca, NY; a grandson, Zeth Chapel, Salamanca, NY; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Chapel, Jade Young, both of Salamanca, NY; two great-grandsons, John Chapel, Jason Chapel, both of Salamanca, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Floyd F. Pierce.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at the Valley Christian Assembly, Prospect Avenue, Salamanca, NY at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
