NORTH COLLINS, NY – Thanks to two clutch runs in the top of the seventh inning, the Portville softball team was able to steal a 7-5 win on the road against North Collins.

Trailing 3-2 after four innings of play, the Panthers out-scored the Eagles 5-2 in the game’s latter innings to edge out the victory.

And at the center of it all for the visitors on the day was Ella Warters. At the plate, Warters went 1-for-3 with a run and three RBI. She also pitched 5.0 innings of the contest, striking out six batters while giving up just one hit.

Lending a hand to Warters, offensively, were Autumn Baker (2-for-2, run, 2 walks) and Madison Ford (1-for-3, 2 runs).

The victory signified Portville’s return to the win column after dropping each of its last two games.

Five others would tab RBIs in the win while 11 Lady Terrors would score, including Carrie Drummond and Baylee Francis who, along with Prince, would round home plate three times.
