In two contested village elections in Cattaraugus County Tuesday, incumbent trustees lost one seat each in Allegany and Ellicottville. In Portville, two incumbents were re-elected in a three-way race for two seats.
Seven of the nine village in the county had elections, but only Allegany, Ellicottville and Portville had any contests. Delevan and Little Valley had no elections his year.
Allegany Trustee Jerry Cummins lost his re-election bid, placing third in a three-way race for two seats with 62 votes on the Democratic and Republican. The winn ers are newcomer Shannon Barie who got 75 votes on the Democratic and Common Sense lines and Republican John Kolkowski, who got 92 votes.
Also in Allegany, Village Justice Lance Brennan received 103 votes on the Democratic and Republican lines.
In Ellicottville, incumbent Trustee Caitlin H. Croft was defeated for re-election to a four-year term on the Community First party line with 24 votes to incumbent Sean Lowes seeking rele-ection to a four-year term on the independent Community First line. Sean Lowes, a Republican incumbent trustee got 63 votes and fellow Republican Chad Neal got 57 votes to win election to the two seats.
In Portville, Trustee Joseph McClarney, a Republican, got 33 votes and Democratic incumbent Michael DeBarbieri got 32 votes to win two seats for four-year terms in a three-way race against challenger Republican Mike Randolph, who had nine votes.
Also in Portville, Village Justice Judy McClain got 32 votes in her re-election bid for a four-year term on the Republican line.
Cattaraugus Mayor Anthony Nagel, who was unopposed in his bid for re-election to a two-year-term on the Republican line, received 12 votes.
Trustee Tara Beth Perkins, who was seeking re-election to a two-year term and Todd Wulf Jr. is seeking election as a trustee on the Republican line, got 12 and 11 votes respectively.
In the Village of Franklinville, Republican Sherrill Sciortino got 23 votes in her uncontested bid for a one-year trustee vacancy.
In Gowanda, Mark D. Nephew, the Allegiance Party candidate for a two-year term as mayor in Gowanda, received 57 votes. Incumbent Trustees Carol Sheibley got 62 votes and Paul Zimmermann got 57 votes in their uncontested re-election bids on the Allegiance Party line.
Also in Gowanda, Trustee Peter Sisti got 59 votes as the Allegiance Party candidate for re-election to the Village Board. He was uncontested.
South Dayton Mayor Robert Killock received 29 votes in his uncontested bid for re-election to a two-year term on the Republican line. Two Republican candidates for two-year trustee terms — incumbent Melinda Frederickson go0t 30 votes and Jenna Elizabeth Tabak got 26 votes.
