Olean- Carolyn K. Davis moved her address to Heaven on Tuesday (March 11, 2025) .
She was the first born of Irvin Demonce Davis and Mildred Mary (Compfort) Davis in Olean, New York. Carolyn graduated from Hinsdale Central School and attended Tennessee Temple Bible College in Chattanooga, TN.
Early on she worked as a telephone operator for NY Telephone on Reed Street in Olean, then for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY and later was a self-employed salesperson. Most recently she worked for the Green Thumb program at Allegany State Park, then for the DEC in Little Valley.
She loved working in the outdoors and being one of the ‘crew.’ She was disappointed to have to retire in 2023 at 85 years of age.
She is survived by a brother, David (Ann Marie) Davis of Landing, NJ, sisters Marian (Stephen) Bolles of Allegany, Beverly Rinko Roth of Great Valley and Rev. Vickie (LeRoy) Hedlund of Olean, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday (March 16, 2025) from 12-1pm at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean.
A funeral service will begin at 1. Pastor Mark Kapel of Haskell Community Church and Carolyn’s nephew Pastor Jim Whitten will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
