Little Valley, NY – David A. Phillips ,84, formerly of Little Valley, NY passed away Monday March 3, 2025 at Absolut of Westfield.

He was born May 23, 1940 in Salamanca, NY the son of the late Leslie and Doris (Cross) Phillips.

On August 7, 1982 he married Murble “Cathy” Phillips who predeceased him on September 25, 2019.

Mr. Phillips was a longtime truck driver who had been employed at Conley’s Trucking, Little Valley Sand and Gravel, McBride’s Trucking and Wulf Trucking.He also worked the gates at the Cattaraugus Co. Fair.

He was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church in Little Valley, NY and the Mansfield Vol. Fire Dept.He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and volunteered to take patients to their medical appointments.He was an avid bowler and fisherman and enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles,loved his animals and being an outdoorsman.

Mr. Phillips is survived by a son Joseph(Tonia) Phillips of East Otto, NY and 3 daughters Arminda (late Dennis) Joyce, Teri (late Francis) Milles of Little Valley and Jamie Phillips of Ohio.Also surviving is a stepson Richard Covert of Olean, NY and 3 step daughters Cathi (Robert) Nolan of Stillwell, OK, Millie(Greg) Jedrosko of Olean, NY and Linda (Karl) Jurgens of Olympia, WA, a sister Patricia (late William) Fitzgerald of Little Valley,NY, 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife he is predeceased by a son Jacob Phillips, a stepson Andrew Kinnard and 2 brothers Arnold Phillips and Dale Phillips and a granddaughter Kandise Phillips.

Friends may call at the Valley View Baptist Church in Little Valley, NY on Monday March 24, 2025 from 11am – noon with Funeral services beginning at noon.

Burial will be in Little Valley Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cattaraugus Ambulance Service or the Little Valley Memorial Library.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 411 Rock City Street in Little Valley, NY.
