Ruth Roxanne (Matteson) Attwell Olean, NY- Ruth Roxanne (Matteson) Attwell, 58, of Olean passed away on Sunday (February 23, 2025) at her home with her current partner after multiple surgeries.
She was born March 10, 1966 in Olean, she was the daughter of John (Janet Matteson) Green and Kenneth (Karen Johnston) Nelligan.
She spent much of her youth with her maternal grandmother Frances (Moore) Matteson. On September 25, 1982, in Portville, she married Perry L. Attwell Sr. and spent 41 years of marriage before his passing on February 25, 2024. She leaves her two children Perry L. (Deb Easley) Attwell Jr and Larena Attwell to carry on the family legacy.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with her animals, Kira, Dakota, Isis, and Serenity. She found peace in nature and country settings. She regularly spent time outside at her pond, listening to the flow of water and birds. In addition to her children, she is survived by her three grandchildren, Xaiver Attwell, Jonas Easley and Lence Easley; her mother, Janet (John) Green; many half siblings, Kim (Ken) Caccamise, Karianne (Patrick) Hehir, Karena (John) Willson, Kristine (Brian) Robarczyk, Valerie (Shawn) King, Albert (Regina) Budde, Theresa (Tyler) Larson, Denise (James) Wheller, Janet (Regis) Lilley and Jennifer (Brett) Whalen-Green; and her aunt, Barbara (Jeff) McMaster and uncle, William (Bonnie) Matteson.
She was preceded in addition to her husband, by her maternal grandmother, Frances (Herman) Matteson, father & stepmother, Kenneth (Karen Johnston) Nelligan, uncle, Walter George Matteson, sister-in-law, Bonnie (William) Matteson and half -brother, Robert Howard Budde Jr.
