Gowanda – Father Thomas J. Tucker, 89, of Gowanda, passed away Monday, January 27, 2024 at the Absolut Care of Aurora Park in East Aurora. He was born on April 5, 1935 in Rochester, son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Stein) Tucker. Father Tom was a devout man of faith, residing at the Trappist Monastery in Piffard, NY for many years, until he served as priest in California, before returning to Western New York. He was a member of St. Joseph’s RC Church, the Collins 50+ Seniors of which he was active in, and will always be belovedly remembered as “Father Tom” to all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by two sisters; Gertrude Tucker of California, and Patricia Tucker of Gowanda, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Father Tom is predeceased by three brothers; Charles Tucker, Gerard Tucker, and James Tucker.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda.
