Olean- James Walter Ritts, 82, passed away Tuesday (January 21, 2025) after a short illness, with the West Fall House staff by his side.
Jim was born May 22, 1942, in Buffalo and he worked for SubCon Industries for over 30 years before retiring. In his free time, Jim enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and bowling. He also loved watching Western movies and listening to Beatles and Elvis music. He also enjoyed going out for coffee and donuts and attending Christmas Eve church service.
Jim will be missed by the Foster family, who took him in on holidays and with whom he enjoyed making homemade apple cider. Jim is survived by his advocate, Molly Foster, and his extended Intandem family. He was predeceased by his longtime friend, Susan Murray.
Friends will be received on Wednesday (January 29, 2025) from 10 am to 11 am at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
