GOWANDA — On Jan. 6, the Salamanca girls wrestling team participated in its first-ever dual meets, splitting the affairs with a loss to Frewsburg and its first dual meet win over Gowanda.
Against Frewsburg, the Warriors fell by a score of 25-15 with wins having been tallied by Maelonnee Bacelli, Rhiannon Chase and Ari Acosta.
In the match against hosts Gowanda, Salamanca claimed a 20-15 victory. Aaliyah Winship and Kendra Bova-Redeye both picked up wins via pin with Maelonnee Bacelli and Madison Mohr recording wins as well.
