On Monday, the Portville girls’ basketball team saw the materialization of the fruits of their labors. During the halftime intermission of the Portville vs Randolph boys’ basketball game, the Lady Panthers unveiled their newly minted Section VI Class B2 Championship banner.

A season ago, Portville ended their regular season at 14-7, entering the postseason bracket as the No. 7 seed. As they marched through the playoffs, the Lady Panthers took down Falconer (No. 10), MST (No. 2) and Salamanca (No. 3) on route to the finals. Once there, Portville took on top-seeded Wilson, ultimately coming out victorious with a 51-29 win.
