Boys Basketball
Olean 71, Fredonia 47
FREDONIA, NY – Behind a 25-point performance from Luca Quinn, the Olean boys basketball team is back in the win column for the first time in nearly a month.
Quinn, who drained five of the Huskies’ nine 3-pointers on the night, paved the way for an all-around team performance by the visitors. Seven different players managed to find their way onto the scoresheet for Olean, including Mykel Rivera who was not far behind Quinn’s tally with 19 points of his own.
The Huskies controlled the affair from the jump, bringing a 15-point lead into halftime. Holding the Hillbillies to just four points in the third quarter while they dropped in 17 was the nail in the coffin.
Fredonia’s Colin Luce had an excellent night, scoring 24 points, more than half of his team’s final total.

Following a back-and-forth first half, the Gators and Golden Falcons entered the intermission tied. The sides were nearly inseparable in the third frame, with the visitors taking a narrow three-point advantage.
Luckily for the hosts, its defense came through when it needed to most and held Falconer to just five points in the fourth quarter. Scoring 11 points of its own in the frame, A-L just about secured its eighth consecutive win.
