Thomas W. Reed, 62, of Salamanca, NY, died on December 10, 2024 at home following a long illness.
Born December 11, 1961 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Donald and Janice Potter Reed.
He attended Salamanca High School.
Thomas was a self-employed logger for over 30 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was an avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was most proud that he held the NYS Walleye Record in 2009 which held for almost ten years. He enjoyed playing poker and was also an avid Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are: two daughters, Holly Reed, Tammy Reed, both of Kill Buck, NY; a son, Matthew (Leslie) Kuhaneck, and his longtime companion, Lisa Kuhaneck, both of Kill Buck, NY; a sister, Kathleen (Dave Spry) Collingwood, Salamanca, NY; three brothers, Michael (Norma) Reed, Patrick (Doreen) Reed, both of Salamanca, NY, Donald (Annette) Reed, Great Valley, NY; ten grandchildren, Owen, Caleb, Nixi, Ivy, Isabella, Alivia, Emerett, Urijah, Yavin, Zamara; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Buffalo, NY.
