Betty L. Crouse, 94, of Bradford, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

She was born on January 29, 1930 in Bradford, the daughter of the late Oscar and Ruth Abbey Stromberg.

She was a 1947 graduate of the Bradford Senior High School.  She earned her nursing certificate from the former Bradford Hospital School of Nursing in 1950.

On June 18, 1955 in the First United Methodist Church, Bradford, she married Donald F. Crouse who preceded her in death on August 6, 2014.

She was a member of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, Bradford.

She worked in the Polio Unit of the Bradford Hospital during the Polio Epidemic; she was also one of the first nurses to work in the original Bradford Hospital Pediatric Ward.  She was also the charge nurse on the third floor of the hospital.

She is survived by one son, David (Patty) Crouse of Warren; one daughter, Karen Sherwin of Braford; one daughter-in-law, Ginny Crouse of Bradford; ten grandchildren, Andrew (Kim) Crouse, Eric Crouse, Katelyn Sherwin, Christopher Sherwin, Joshua Sherwin, Emily Crouse, Abigail (Christian) Conrade, Rebecca (Seth) Billstone, Amelia Crouse and Cammie Crouse; four great grandchildren, Kaliyah Crouse, Leila Crouse, Norah Sweitzer and Colt Billstone with another great grandson on the way and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by one son, Kevin Crouse; one granddaughter, Jessica Sweitzer Sherwin and one son-in-law, Jeff Sherwin.

Private burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
