Olean- Ronald Ernest Maine “Loving Husband, Father & Papa”
Ronald E. Maine of 643 Garden Ave. passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the Olean General Hospital following an illness.
Ron was born January 24, 1944 in Olean and was the son of Floyd E. and Rachel M. Simon Maine. On March 27, 1965 in the St. Stephen’s Church he married the love of his life Onalee K. Williams who survives.
Ron attended Olean High School. He began working at Clark Brothers in 1966 and retired after 40 years in June of 2006 where he held several positions throughout his career.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, spending time in his yard working, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who fondly knew him as “Papa”.
Along with his loving wife of 59 years, Onalee, Ron is survived by; 3 children, Vickie L. (Ron) Isaman, Ronnie D. Maine Jr. and Dena R. Maine all of Olean; 3 grandsons, Tyler and Dylan Isaman and Devin Maine; 2 great grandchildren, Callie Isaman and Cooper Isaman; 4 step grandchildren, Colby Cummings, Corey Bennett, Casey Cummings and Kelsey Gilkey; 3 siblings, Virginia Hyde of Allegany, Floyd Maine and Pat (Paul) McGavisk both of Olean; and many nieces and nephews including a close cousin, Robert Franz of Olean.
Ron was predeceased by; his parents; 4 siblings, Shirley Solarek, Rosie Kirk, Chuck Maine Sr. and Joe Maine.
Friends will be received on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00am in the Funeral Home. The Rev. Chuck Maine will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
