Gail M. Northrup, 85, of Salamanca, NY, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Salamanca Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Born October 29, 1938 in Red House, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha John.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and of the Bear Clan and attended the Thomas Indian School.

Gail enjoyed spending time with her family, the outdoors and fishing, playing Bingo, and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.

Surviving are: four daughters, Jorene (Bob) Vossols, Orland Park, IL, Dorene Metzler, Salamanca, NY, Marlene Craft, Darlene (Toot) Clark, NC; a son, Walter Metzler, Salamanca, NY; two granddaughters, Rachel Roberson, NC, Stephanie Black, Salamanca, NY; eight grandsons, Josh Neives, Salamanca, NY, JD Frase, Carl Frase, Daniel Clark, William Clark, all of NC, Walter Metzler Jr., Bruce Metzler, KY, David Romero, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sons, Lawrence Metzler, Gerald Metzler, and Garrett Metzler.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 12 – 7pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11am with Rev. Marvin Abrams officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery, Jimersontown, NY.
