Cattaraugus County District Attorney Lori Rieman is proud to announce that First Assistant District Attorney Jessica A. Ungaro, Esq. was honored by Connecting Communities in Action as a Champion for Domestic Violence Survivors in her professional role.
Ms. Ungaro started as an Assistant District Attorney in 2020, and was promoted to First Assistant District Attorney on November 1, 2021. In this role, she personally handles all felony domestic violence and sexual abuse/rape cases. According to Cassandra Hinman, LMSW, Direct Service Coordinator, Ms. Ungaro is passionate about the work she does and truly advocates strongly for victims in the legal system. She ensures they are linked with services and also takes the time to meet with them to hear their side of things when it comes to the cases. Victims who work with Ms. Ungaro feel their voices are heard and she deeply cares about helping to hold the offender accountable.
District Attorney Rieman agrees and lauds her ceaseless dedication in advocating for survivors and understanding the relevant laws in seeking justice.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Connecting Communities in Action, Inc., is a not for profit organization incorporated in New York since 1965 advocating and educating survivors, among multiple other objectives. Rieman credits CCA for the endless assistance received from them in working with survivors as they seek justice in a state where survivors rights are repeatedly disregarded. They are so vital to ensuring that survivors receive the necessary resources to seek justice.
