The final week of the CCMFL season is here and the Super Bowl match-ups in each level have been decided.  In the Midget A Bowl, two undefeated teams will battle it out for the title this Saturday at 5PM at Pioneer.  The Allegany Gators earned their way to the championship via a 33-18 victory over the Catt/Little Valley Panthers and the Bolivar Richburg Wolverines fought a close battle with the Randolph Raiders 15-12.

The Gators used the tandem of Jace Thompson and Logan Wojtowicz to power past the Timberwolves in Saturdays first contest.  Coach Travis Aderman was excited about his team’s rushing dominance, “we got Jace back from an injury this week and he was on fire with 3 touchdowns and well over 100 yards rushing” and “Logan shined with two touchdowns and over 100 yards” of his own.  Aderman added, “the offensive line came through strong to make that possible and that’s what it takes!”

Defensively the Gators were led by leading tackler Thompson and Xander Keith who had a good game at corner including an interception.

The Gators are now just one game away from a perfect season and a CCMFL Midget A bowl Championship. Aderman summed up this win…“I couldn’t be prouder of this team and the way they work together, and I am looking forward to a great game next weekend against another strong team”.

The Bolivar Richburg Wolverines are also chasing that “perfect season”.  The Wolverines withstood a very tough Randolph running game that according to Coach Jude Aderman, “was very effective at driving the ball down our throat and chewing up a lot of clock on 3-4 yard runs.” “Our offense never even saw the field in the first quarter… which is obviously very frustrating.”  Although the defense had their difficulties against a “very physical team that is well coached”, the Wolverine’s, led by Joe Welch, Luke Auman, Connor Winchell, Brantley Willets, Joey Duell, Daxton Maul, and Melina Hall were able to hold the Raiders to just 12 points.

Offensively, Joe (TD) Welsch led Bolivar Richburg scoring both of their touchdowns.  Coach Auman felt his team played exceptionally well especially since some of his athletes were battling illness. “It is exciting to be in the Super Bowl this year and to be undefeated. I am extremely proud of this team, although the score was too close for comfort. All week our team was plagued with illnesses and a few of our key contributors either didn’t play or were limited.” He also indicated that there is a “friendly rivalry” between the Wolverines and the Gators.  “Allegany-Limestone is a fast team that is well coached. My second-year coaching midgets we faced them in the “B” bracket of super bowl and lost. Last year, we faced them in the first round of the playoffs in the “A” bracket and lost. This has caused a very healthy rivalry and we are looking forward to playing them next week for the Championship.”

The Super Bowls in all divisions will be played on Saturday the 12th at Pioneer High School in Arcade.  The Pee Wee “B” between Bradford and Cuba will start at 11, and Midget “B”, Seneca vs Salamanca at 1.  The “A” bowls, both Pee Wee and Midget will feature all undefeated teams.  The Pee Wee “A” will start at 3 with Salamanca playing Pioneer and the Midget “A” will finish off the day starting at 5 between Bolivar Richburg and Allegany Limestone.

NOTE: There will be a $2 CCMFL admission charge for any attendees over 5 years of age.
