The Salamanca Girls Varsity swim team continues their winning ways with a 112-74 victory over Fredonia/Dunkirk/Forestville.  Coach Laurie Lafferty John is very encouraged by her team’s effort… “The amount of growth and toughness this team is taking on has really been the highlight of our last 2 meets. We are giving the rookies some longer races and our veterans some tougher races and they are embracing them like a champ. This is the kind of culture we are really trying to build.”

One of the highlights was Sophomore Alexa Reed getting her 1st varsity win in the 200 free setting a new PR by 4 seconds. 7th grader, Makenna McCormick took 3rd by improving her personal record by over 13 seconds. Senior, Lauren John came up big with a 5th in the 200 free and 4th in the 500 free. Lily John also grabbed a 5th in the 100 breast (PR) and Rileigh Hutchison 4th diving.  Said John “These are the places that add up and make a huge difference for us when we are trying to get the magic number of 94 points for a win.”
